About

This hand-built vase captures the soft, fluid motion of fabric frozen in clay. Its surface mimics the gentle folds and gathered tension of cloth wrapped loosely around the form, creating a sense of movement and stillness all at once. The illusion of textile texture contrasts beautifully with the solidity of ceramic, blurring the line between softness and strength.

Display it as a work of art or let it serve as a vessel for flowers. Both options will bring charm to your space.

Why You’ll Love It

  • Soft folded texture gives it a sculptural, textile-like feel
  • Blush finish adds warmth and subtle colour to your styling
  • Handmade character makes each piece feel unique
  • Works beautifully as both decor and a functional vase
  • Tall silhouette makes it ideal for branches and statement stems
  • A refined blend of Scandinavian calm and Art Deco elegance

Care & Maintenance — Ceramic Products

These instructions apply to all Untitled Square ceramic pieces (vases, bowls, planters, candle holders, trays, sculptures). Because each piece is handmade, small variations are normal. If your item included any product‑specific notes, follow those first.

Quick Care

  • Handle with care. Ceramics can chip if bumped or dropped.

  • Avoid thermal shock. Don’t move pieces quickly between extreme temperatures (e.g., fridge → hot water).

  • Hand‑wash preferred. Mild soap, soft sponge, dry thoroughly.

  • Protect surfaces. Use felt pads or a placemat; wipe moisture rings promptly.

  • Water use (vases/planters). Empty and dry between uses; don’t leave standing water for long periods.

  • Candles & heat. Keep away from drafts and direct flame; never leave burning candles unattended.

Handling & Placement

  • Lift from the base with two hands; avoid lifting by narrow rims, handles, or decorative flowers.

  • Place on level, stable surfaces. For polished timber/stone, add felt pads or a non‑scratch mat to prevent marks.

  • Avoid sharp contact with hard objects (keys, metal décor) to reduce scuffing of glazes or matte finishes.

Cleaning

  • Routine cleaning: Hand‑wash in warm water with a mild, non‑abrasive detergent. Use a soft sponge or cloth. Rinse and dry fully before storing or refilling.

  • Dishwasher: If your product page states “dishwasher safe,” use the top rack, gentle cycle. Otherwise, hand‑wash only.

  • Stain removal (interiors of vases/bowls): Fill with warm water and a little baking soda + white vinegar, soak 15–30 minutes, then rinse. For mineral rings, use white vinegar soak; avoid harsh descalers.

  • Avoid: Steel wool, scouring powders, bleach, or citrus‑based heavy solvents—they can dull or etch glazes.

Water & Porosity

  • Glazed interiors are generally water‑resistant; unglazed/matte areas can absorb moisture and develop marks if left wet.

  • For vases/planters, empty and air‑dry between uses to minimise moisture rings and odours. Do not store water long‑term.

  • Use a watertight liner or tray under planters if placing on porous or delicate furniture.

Heat, Cold & Thermal Shock

  • Sudden temperature change can crack ceramics. Avoid moving pieces directly from cold to hot or hot to cold.

  • Do not place near open flames, heating elements, or directly on stovetops, ovens, or microwaves unless the specific product page says it is safe to do so.

  • For candle holders and incense trays, allow to cool before touching; place on a heat‑resistant surface.

Candles, Diffusers & Oils

  • Candle holders: Trim wicks to ~6 mm (1/4 in). Keep wax pools free of debris. Stop using when ~6–10 mm (1/4–3/8 in) of wax remains to avoid overheating the holder.

  • Tealights/tapers: Ensure the candle fits snugly. Never leave burning candles unattended. Keep away from children, pets, drafts, and flammables.

  • Reed diffusers / essential oils: Wipe any drips immediately; oils can stain matte or unglazed surfaces. Use a coaster or tray beneath.

Food, Drink & Tableware

  • Unless the product page explicitly states “food safe”, treat as decorative only.

  • If food safe: avoid cutting directly on the surface; use wooden or silicone utensils to prevent marks. Rinse after acidic foods.

Outdoor Use

  • Outdoor exposure can lead to weathering, mineral deposits, or colour changes. Bring pieces indoors during freezes, heavy rain, or high winds.

  • Avoid leaving standing water in outdoor vases/planters during cold weather.

Protecting Surfaces

  • Water + unglazed footrings can leave marks. Add felt or silicone feet; keep surfaces dry.

  • For marble/wood, use a barrier mat when displaying fresh flowers or plants.

Repairs & Longevity

  • Hairline crazing (fine crackle in glaze) can occur naturally over time and is usually cosmetic. Avoid soaking crazed pieces for long periods.

  • For chips/cracks that affect safety, discontinue use. Professional restoration is recommended for sentimental or high‑value pieces.

Safety Notes

  • Keep ceramics out of reach of children and pets when heavy/tall.

  • Do not use damaged items for candles, hot contents, or food.

  • California buyers: certain finishes may require Proposition 65 warnings. Refer to the product page if applicable.

Warranty & Support

We want you to love your piece. If your item arrives damaged or develops a fault with normal use, contact support@untitledsquare.com within 7 days of delivery with your order number and photos. We’ll help with troubleshooting, replacement, or a solution under our Returns & Refunds Policy.
